FIND OUT WHAT IS NEXT FOR STRIKE AND ROBIN

A dismembered corpse is discovered in the vault of a silver shop. The police initially believe it to be that of a convicted armed robber - but not everyone agrees with that theory. One of them is Decima Mullins, who calls on the help of private detective Cormoran Strike as she's certain the body in the silver vault was that of her boyfriend - the father of her newborn baby - who suddenly and mysteriously disappeared.

The more Strike and his business partner Robin Ellacott delve into the case, the more labyrinthine it gets. The silver shop is no ordinary one: it's located beside Freemasons' Hall and specialises in Masonic silverware. And in addition to the armed robber and Decima's boyfriend, it becomes clear that there are other missing men who could fit the profile of the body in the vault.

As the case becomes ever more complicated and dangerous, Strike faces another quandary. Robin seems increasingly committed to her boyfriend, policeman Ryan Murphy, but the impulse to declare his own feelings for her is becoming stronger than ever.

A gripping, wonderfully complex novel which takes Strike and Robin's story to a new level, The Hallmarked Man is an unmissable read for any fan of this unique series.©2025 Robert Galbraith Limited (P)2025 Hachette Audio UK

A terrific and tightly plotted romp ... With an apparent effortlessness that speaks of great discipline and skill, Galbraith keeps the plates of all four possible murder inquiries spinning, each one replete with its own satisfyingly unexpected feints and twists ... A triumph of storytelling (GUARDIAN)
These Galbraith novels are remarkable, the management of a variety of themes and stories extraordinary. Indeed, I would rather read Galbraith than any other crime writer now active. These are books you can happily lose yourself in. (The Scotsman)
Cancel all your plans [...] combines a fiendish mystery with the deliciously tangled will they/won't they romantic lives of private investigators Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott. [...] It's so good to have them back. (HEAT)
Galbraith has created a world that the reader wants to spend time in and I'm just as invested in the characters as I am the mysteries. Strike and Robin are two of the most compelling characters in contemporary fiction and I really hope we've got lots more books to come. 'The Hallmarked Man' is dark, twisty and endlessly addictive, and it's one of the strongest books in the Strike series so far.' (ENTERTAINMENT FOCUS)

I do love the Strike series. JK Rowling is a truly fabulous plotter, so twisted and well thought out. Great story. Robert Glenister did, once again, a fantastic job narrating, bringing Strike and Robin and all the side characters to life. Thank you for that, Sir!
I would have liked more Shanker and Barkley woven into the mix. Certainly could've done without Kim and the entire Charlotte cast, memories and entanglements clinging to the story. Perhaps in the next book we'll be finally free of her and her family's claws digging into Strike's flesh.
Hopefully the next book will be here soon.
Also, Go Pat!!

great Strike story, fantastic narration

Absolutely Brilliant - best ever - Can‘t wait for The next Book. Robin and Strike - The lovestory continues…

Absolutely Brilliant

JkRowling at one of her best. She makes it possible to both love and hate the main characters in this book.
I'm in awe.

Both, Strike and Robin, are idiots in this book

I find it hard to review this book: on one hand the main crime story didn't capture me like in the previous books. I just couldn't get into this plot: so many names and characters all dragged and stretched over too many leads.
A lot of it felt like unnecessary "idling", and if it wasn't for wanting to finally know how the Robin-and-Strike situation would evolve, it probably would have taken me much longer to listen till the end.
On the other hand there is mastery in the development of the protagonists, and it's almost unbearable at times to follow the rollercoaster of emotions and feelings they're going through.
I found myself resenting Strike a lot and resenting Robin equally often, and that's brilliant. Somehow they come to life in a very unique way, you feel like you're practically living with them. You are partaking in their lives and turmoils as if they were your friends.
You definitely want to know how it all ends.
Galbraith has given us something this time, at the very end. A cliffhanger par excellence.
Narrator R. Glenister had something going on with his voice, was my impression, but if that's at all possible, it's made the listening experience even better. Although one would think that there can't be room for improvement with a narrator like him. He is supreme.

Annoying and brilliant

I soooo waited for this book and was not disappointed. And the end...I think I have heard the last chapter now at least 10 times. What a great read and Robert Glennister is so gorgeous narrating it. Can't wait for the next one.

GREAT

I am a huge fan of this series. After the last two books, this one feels like a return to a somewhat more traditional crime novel – which I liked. I particularly enjoyed the development of the characters and the deeply satisfying evolution of Robin and Strike’s relationship. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

The work of a true master

Robert Glenister‘s performance is outstanding, the story is captivated and all the pieces fall right into place in the end. Five stars.

Fantastic!

I am a huge fan of Strike & Robin‘s adventures. Last book‘s story was better and I‘m not sure it can be beaten. Nonetheless I enjoyed the book and the speaker does an amazing job as always! It ends on a cliffhanger and I can‘t wait to listen to the next book!

Another great one!

Gewohnt gut und sorgfältig, noch und noch und noch ein twist. Strike's ordeal ist almost torture

I saved it for an especially stressful stretch at work and enjoyed immensely every single hour of this book! It was like fighting fire with fire. The tangled plot and emotional life of many characters, but foremost Robin’s and Strike‘s left me craving for the next book. Not only the love-life and the future of the agency, but Strike‘s reflections on his life, attitudes and his own past are the paths I can’t wait to follow further. I commiserated and laughed out loud, sat with a tearful eye or really furious at times. What more can one want from a book. This was the first audio-book of the series for me and I didn’t regret it. Wished Strike‘s voice had been softer at times, being spoiled by voice and appearance of Tom Burke, but still enchanted with all the nuances of Robert Glenister‘s masterful interpretation.
