    Brought to you by Penguin.

The audiobook edition of The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, read by the author's son, Ignat Solzhenitsyn.

With a new foreword written and read by Jordan B. Peterson and an exclusive Q&A between Jordan B. Peterson and Ignat Solzhenitsyn.

The officially approved abridgement of The Gulag Archipelago Volumes I, II & III.

A vast canvas of camps, prisons, transit centres and secret police, of informers and spies and interrogators but also of everyday heroism, The Gulag Archipelago is Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's grand masterwork. Based on the testimony of some 200 survivors and on the recollection of Solzhenitsyn's own 11 years in labour camps and exile, it chronicles the story of those at the heart of the Soviet Union who opposed Stalin and for whom the key to survival lay not in hope but in despair.

A thoroughly researched document and a feat of literary and imaginative power, this edition of The Gulag Archipelago was abridged into one volume at the author's wish and with his full co-operation.

    Horrifying, Deep and Timely

I can only second what was said in the End Credits: "I can hardly imagine anyone reading this book seriously and not becoming a better person because of it."

The sheer curage, determination and luck that was necessary for someone to survive these horrors and be able to write this book, produces a virtual obligation on all of us not having been there to at least read about these horrors

    Pflichtlektüre

Ein Meilenstein in der Geschichte der Menschheit. Lediglich eine etwas gekürzte Version wäre evtl. wünschenswert.

Maybe the most important book of the 20th century

An extensive look at Soviet atrocities and a personal account. This book should be read in schools all over the world. As Jordan Peterson puts it: Reading this book will make you a better person.

    a must read

Anyone who wants to understand how far the humanity can go in justifying the cruelties under a "riotous" ideology, this is a must read. However you will not find only desperation and horror, but also how far a human can go in goodness and virtues.
