Zunächst: es ist auf Englisch sehr gut zu verstehen - eine Hörprobe sollte überzeugen! Ich fand es von Anfang an spannend ohne große Längen einfach unterhaltsam. Da ich sehr viel im Auto unterwegs bin und die Hörbucher immer dort, höre habe ich mich schon immer darauf gefreut ins Auto einzusteigen und loszufahren. Was will man mehr!

Politisch ist es mir etwas zu einseitig dargestellt schließlich ist der Held der Buches beim israelischen Geheimdienst..... Da sollte man lieber nicht zuviel darüber nachdenken.

Und wenn man es fertig gehört hat -welch Freude - es gibt dann gleich noch ein weiteres Buch mit dem Helden der Story 'The Confessor'

Gabriel Allon is an Isreali spy, who also happens to be one of the world's best art restorers. After an anonymous invitation to restore an Old Master painting, Gabriel is swept off to Zurich. Upon entering the house of the requesting person he finds him dead, and not by suicide. What follows, is a gripping tale of cunning, subterfuge, and intelligence throughout Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, England, Germany, Spain, and even Portugal!

This intelligently written, international espionage thriller, filled with intrigue and vengeance, is as good is it gets. You wont be able to push the pause button!

Das ist wohl das schwächste Hörbuch das ich in den letzten Jahren gehört habe. Es fehlt der Story an wirklicher Spannung und es scheint, dass der Autor nicht nur sehr oberflächliches Wissen über die Nazi - Zeit hat sondern primär auch ein grobes Problem mit der Schweiz und natürlich speziell mit den Bankern.

Leider habe ich mir zum 2. Mal ein Hörbuch mit diesem Sprecher runter geladen. Der Sprecher sollte sich mal andere anhören und dann seinen Stil anpassen. Das kann man sich nur eine gewisse Zeit antun. Aus diesem Grund kann ich nicht sagen, ob das Buch gut oder schlecht ist. Schade!!
