Zusammen mit der Stimme der Leserin wird hier eine spannende und unheimliche Atmosphäre geschaffen, die einen nicht mehr los lässt. Ich habe nicht mehr geschlafen, bis ich das Hörbuch durchgehört hatte.

Spannung perfekt gehalten

Ein tolles Hörbuch- super Plot, man wird in die Geschichte förmlich hineingesogen. Die Erzählerin fantastisch, erweckt jede der Figuren mit eigener Stimme zum Leben.

Mein erstes Buch von Ruth Ware und sicher nicht das letzte. Eine wunderbar spannende, interessante, menschliche Geschichte, bei der mir wirklich alles gefallen hat. Die Charaktere sind vielschichtig und in ihrem Denken und Verhalten nachvollziehbar und stimmig, der Plot ist voller Twists und Geheimnisse, ohne im Geringsten abstrus zu wirken. Großartig vorgelesen von Imogen Church.

Ruth Ware hat einen unverwechselbaren Stil! Und Imogen Church bringt auch bei diesem Hörbuch düstere Atmosphäre auf den Punkt!

Ich war gefesselt von der Geschichte rund um eine Erbschaft, die eine schlüssige, aber nicht schnell vorhersehbare Auflösung hat.

It is probably a very good book. I would like to listen to it, but the narrator's whiny voice makes it so hard (sorry, no offense 😰). It takes ages until the story really begins and every time I listen to it, it brings my mood down. I am sorry to say this but it's the first book I stopped listening to. I might try again later.


Edit: I finally gave it another try. It turns out it was a very good story. I listened to it with 1.5x speed, and it was much better.

Zu viel Hin und Her und Wiederholungen, man hätte die Geschichte deutlich kürzen sollen. Dazu kommt, dass ich leider übersehen habe , dass Imogen Church liest. Für meinen Geschmack "overacted" sie beim Lesen stark, was mir auf die Nerven geht.

Quite a slow plot development and a major deviation from Ruth Ware's typical style. I'd label this book more of a family secrets drama than a suspense/thriller read.
