But it’s a case of mistaken identity, and they picked the wrong guy. The French police can’t be trusted, except for the beautiful Cecile Nazari. She finds out fast that keeping up with Keeler is a dangerous occupation. Because someone’s preying on the weak and unprotected. Someone murderous. But they never counted on coming up against a guy like Keeler.

Zum Teil habe ich mir überlegt ob ich die Story schon kenne, so stark war die Ähnlichkeit zu den Reacher Romanen, und durch den gleichen Vorleser ist das dann auch noch verstärkt. Im großen und ganzen eine akzeptable Geschichte aber nichts besonderes.

Der Sprecher hat zwar eine angenehme Stimme, aber er "leiert" den Text immer in der gleichen Modulation. Das ist auf Dauer wenig erträglich - schade, die Geschichte verspricht spannend zu werden.

Ex-Soldier getting involved into murderous adventures is not exactly new, Jack Reacher probably being the most prominent of them all right now. But Tom Keeler sticks out as being the most laconic character of them all. I had a lot of fun following him through this tail. The book is fast paced and full of action.
I give 5 stars to the Jeff Harding who is reading this book for us. You may disagree, but to me his style of reading this book was a perfect fit for the Keeler character.
All in all, I will stick to the series.
