A simple story with a likable cast, none of McMaster Bujold's usual drama and complexity, but still enjoyable. The ending is a little abrupt, and leaves room for a sequel or two - I really want to know how Penric's story continues!

A very nice story by one of my favorite authors. The idea to have a demon with several female personalities work from the head of a young man in a medivial setting was something I have not encountered before, even though several slapstick ideas are inevitable. Still, the story feels fresh and fun. Grover Gardner also gives great life to the disparate characters.
