Praise for Peace Talks

“I've been waiting years for Peace Talks. This wasn't the book I was hoping for. It's better.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Patrick Rothfuss

“Buckle up. It’s going to be one, hard, ride. Jim Butcher has long proven he can juggle multiple threads of political intrigue, personal drama, and threat with a masterful use of action and tension....you’re not going to want to put Peace Talks down.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Kim Harrison

Praise for The Dresden Files

“Harry Dresden is a wholly original character in a wholly original world. Every book in the series is a great adventure.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris

“There are no words for how much I love The Dresden Files. I take them out and reread them when I am sad, or bored, or happy--or I happen to walk by one even though I have a lot of other things I should be doing. When a new one comes out, I plan on taking the day off. Superb.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Patricia Briggs

“Think Buffy the Vampire Slayer starring Philip Marlowe.”—Entertainment Weekly

“Butcher is the dean of contemporary urban fantasy.”—Booklist

“A great series...one of the most enjoyable marriages of the fantasy and mystery genres on the shelves.”—Cinescape

Here is the thing: I liked the plot Peace Talks is setting up but it is very clearly only the first half of one book and not an individual story that requires a seperate book (which is what people were let to believe in my oponion). It is a good thing that we are getting the second half fairly soon and the final verdict on Peace Talks will depend a lot on how everything gets resolved and how many of the plot elements that seemded kind of redundant will be important in Battle Ground. I do hope though that this style of publication does not become the blueprint for future Dresden books,

Concering the actual plot, without going to deep into spoiler territory, I was a little disappointed by how the actual Peace Talks played out (on the other hand you might argue that the titles of the books were never a good indicator of the actual content). There are some great scenes though, especially one conversation between Lara and Harry near the end of the book is more character progression and reflection than we get in some entire book series.

Overall I am very excited for Battle Ground and how the two books will hold up together.

Only half the of the Story

Das Buch ist, so wie alle Harry Bücher, großartig. Ein wichtiger Unterschied zu seine Vorgängern ist lediglich, dass es mitten in der Handlung aufhört.

Gut aber nicht zu Ende

I found it highly entertaining and enjoyable. Great performance by James Marsters once again. It's a bit shorter than the previous entries in the series, but the next one is coming in less than two months, so that's ok with me.

He is Back

long time fan of the series, heard all books now three times back to back. but must say shit hit the fan quick in this one.
feels like the shortest and fasted book yet.
really looking forward to the next one. only 1 month to go, which is good as for the huge cliffhanger at the end. it would have destroyed the fanbase. if we had to wait, again so long for the next book.

New Audio book of jim butcher

If you take into consideration, that jim intended to publish Peace Talks + Battle Ground as a single book, this first part would be a promissing and silid ground work for the big battle, but since they decided to separate the book, prace talks on its own is maybe the weakest book so far.. mainly because the big cinvlusion and final is missing.

Good Set-Up but weak on its own
