Absurde Geschichte
Eigentlich bin ich ja ein absoluter Fan von Agatha Christie, aber dieses Buch hat mich doch sehr enttäuscht.
Der Anfang ist wegen der interessanten Charaktere angenehm zu hören, aber die Geschichte driftet ab in eine Politikverschwörung, die doch zu absurd ist. Die Jugendlichen aller Welt vereinigen sich unter Adolf Hilters Sohn um die Macht an sich zu reißen und alle bisherige politische Ordnung zu stürzen. Dabei werden sie von einer geheimnisvollen Quelle mit Geld und Waffen unterstützt. Zusätzlich geht es um ein geheimes Forschungsprojekt, in dem ein Mittel geschaffen wird, um alle Menschen genetisch zu verändern, sodass sie Mitgefühl und Großzügigkeit ("benevolence") empfinden müssen.
In Agatha Christies Zeit mag das zwar besser angekommen sein, aber unter heutiger Sicht ist es merkwürdig und unlogisch.
Hugh Fraser liest allerdings wie immer wunderbar.
