Hockey is my first love. And I’m coming off the best season of my life.
In the process of scoring the winning goal that gave us the Stanley Cup I tore my MCL, and I’ll need to spend the next few months recovering.
Eloise Gable, the team’s new physical therapist, has been sent to Rosewood River to help me heal and get me ready for the new season.
Yet, she doesn’t seem all too happy about the situation.
In fact, she can’t stand me most days.
It doesn’t stop me from staring at her any chance I get.
She’s beautiful and brilliant, but she’s got her guard up the minute I get close.
Eloise is a distraction I wasn’t prepared for.
Did I mention that she’s also my coach’s daughter?
But after a long run together in the summer heat, our built up tension snapped.
We end up stripping down and jumping in the river.
It seemed like the logical thing at the time.
The problem is, Eloise Gable is completely off limits.
But I’m a professional hockey player, and in my world, limits were meant to be pushed.
Hockey may be my first love, but after falling for my coach’s daughter—it’s definitely not my last.
This is book 3 in the Rosewood River Series. Each one can be listened to as a complete standalone. A HEA is guaranteed!
©2025 Laura Pavlov (P)2025 Laura PavlovI’m a sucker for the Chadwick brothers (and cousins). I love their family bond, the constant banter, and their tight-knit dynamic—it’s the kind of fictional family you wish you could join.
Going into Over the Moon, my curiosity about Clark was high. He’s the hotshot hockey player, the youngest of the bunch, and had just enough mystery surrounding him in the previous books to make him intriguing. And let me tell you—he did not disappoint. In fact, I can confidently say: Clark is my favorite Chadwick so far. He’s the full package—successful, sexy, hilarious, and goofy, with all the green flags. Impossible not to root for.
Now, when it comes to the FMCs in this series, I’ve had a harder time connecting with them. So, I braced myself a bit going in. And I’ll be honest: the first few minutes had me worried. Eloise came off as randomly hostile toward Clark, and I was almost ready to check out. But thankfully, the tension between them was cleared up quickly, and from that point on, the story found its rhythm.
I loved the tiny hint of forbidden romance—she’s the coach’s daughter and also happens to be Clark’s physiotherapist after his injury. Throw in some forced proximity (one of my favorite tropes!), and the tension between them just simmered in the best way. Their romance kicked off pretty early and stayed sweet and light, with a sprinkle of spice.
Clark’s goofy side made this story feel fresh and fun. That training scene where he sings and dances to his “sexy playlist”? LOL. And the Chadwick family dinner—where everyone had to pretend they didn’t know Eloise in front of her dad, the trainer and the owner? Absolutely hilarious. The group chats between the guys were another great touch, adding humor and warmth throughout.
📊 Breakdown:
• Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
• Characters: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
• Spice: 🌶️ 2.5/5
• Narration: 🎧 4.25/5
All in all, this was a sweet, low-drama romance full of charm, heart, and humor—and another solid entry in the Rosewood River series.
