Unfortunately, I was very dissatisfied with this audiobook.

After 60 min the conquest of the Aztec empire was briefly discussed. Moving on to the turmoil that was the building of the nation and its revolutions. At least Maximilian I was discussed favorably.

What aggravates me beyond the superficial research of the author is the ignorance and lack of cultural sense of the narrator. He frequently butchers the Spanish language and just blatantly mispronounces names, locations and simply everything that is not American / English. I do not thing it is too much to ask from a voice actor who makes a living of telling stories or reading books to even remotely try to pronounce simple terms correctly. I think they have a great program for Hispanic and latin American languages at the University of Puget Sound. Maybe he should pay his alma matar a visit …

Brief and superficial - uninspired and unprofessional performance

This gives a beautiful picture of how Mexico got to where it is at this point politically mainly. Not much about culture etc. But the big events in history are mostly all there, albeit somewhat brief, especially the revolution I hoped to be more elaborate, considering it is specifically mentioned in the title.

Nicely read overview on Mexico through time.
