I absolutely loved this story! The plot is incredible and almost philosophical, the protagonist is a very interesting person!

The narrators' voice is very pleasant and the imitation of different peoples' voices is spot on!

If you enjoy stories that move through history you will enjoy this. Great story. Would have liked to have more voices in the narration, the richness of the story and characters felt like it needed more that one voice. Highly recommend.

I definitely love humans by Matt Haig, which is why I really looked forward to this novel. However, I was a bit disappointed... it was not as witty and sometimes the story was pretty repetitive and full of stereotypes. The whole story felt a bit rushed, especially the ending.

An enjoyable story mix going through past centuries and the personal experiences of the protagonist and thoughts on what living your life means with all the worries and joys.
I also like the way it is read to listeners.

As a fan of Matt Haig I was delighted by another interesting story of an outsider trying to fit in in this world. The philosphical aspects and points of views give the stroy depth.

Also I was amazed by the narrator's ability to do all these different accents from around the world: English, Scottish, Australian, Southern US, French and so on.

I listened through the while thing in a day, it was good enough to keep me on it :)

Very interesting idea of someone living 15x longer than a normal person or aging 15x slower. It might sound cool at first, but the book shows what problems can occir. The reader is great - adapting to different accents of the protagonists. I loved this audiobook.

Das Buch ist weder ein detailgetreuer, historischer Roman, noch ein philosophisches Werk. Die Geschichte ist unterhaltsam geschrieben und gut erzählt, aber die Idee hätte Potential für mehr gehabt. Die Hauptfigur bleibt unfassbar und distanziert, der Charakter von Tom erschliesst sich einem nicht ganz und müsste in Anbetracht seiner Lebenszeit intensiver und glaubwürdiger sein. Alles in allem ein wenig oberflächlich.

I like Matt Haig’a writing style, it’s very easy to follow and funny. The story itself is not original but well told. The end I found a bit rushed, the story is told I’m a spread out way which is why I found the end didn’t really fall into the same feeling. But otherwise I enjoyed the book a lot and will definitely read more of him!
