... what's with the painful anal sex in all of Kiera Andrews' books?! I don't get why so many authors keep spreading this mare. Anal sex should NOT be painful. If it is, that is a warning sign. Pushing through means risking injury to the receiving person. Authors, please stop promoting this!!

Aside from that, I really liked this book. Great characters, very believable. Also an awesome narrator. I could feel Liam's struggle almost like it was my own. Narrators really make or break an audiobook. And this one did an awesome job.

This story shows what damage internalised homophobia and toxic masculinity combined with parents who decided to be their child's first bullies can do to a person.
Since his childhood his father had a vision how and who Liam should be. Freeing himself and finally allowing himself to become the person he needs to be took him decades.
Liam and Cody met at the right time to change their lives for the better.
Charlene helped too.
