Über diesen Titel

Where does a warrior go when the war is over?

Forged into human weapons to defend humanity against impossible odds, Sergeant Major Reverent Pelletier and the rest of the IBHU Marines and other hyper-augments are discarded by those they fought to protect.

Now that the war is over, they are deemed too dangerous to exist.

Yet, they may still prove valuable.

With two recent deadly wars against alien races, humanity needs to know what other threats are out there. Exiled from human space, they are given a new mission: dive into the unknown depths of the galaxy and discover what else lurks in the far reaches of space.

Space is vast but full of danger. Discovering it is a near certainty, given enough time.

Survival is a different story....

This series was great. Past tense. I don't know when precisely it jumped the shark but this one is an atrocity.

The protagonist is supposed to have a hard to explain knack for making smart decisions based on hunches. This is hard to write and at least 12 previous books pulled it off nicely.

Sadly this completes the journey into lala-land begun at the end of the last book. Previously established competent commanders are suddenly baffled by the "hunch" that a group of massive creatures detected hours ago and then observed to make a straight line journey towards an encampment for said hours are, shock horror, actually gonna reach the encampment.
The protagonist went from hard to explain hunches to being the only one with some few remainders of common sense and the latest installment in this series is barely a sad satire of what it used to be.

The authors appear to have missed the ending of their story. Voice acting is top notch, but nothing can save this turd of a story.

Severe case of plot braindamage
