I would not recommend it for anyone who has not read any of the other riyria books (start with revelations pls)

The story feels like there wasnt enough to talk about anymore. It’s nice to hear from Hadrian & Royce again, but this story feels - in comparison - a little bit soulless. Still recommend it for Riyria fans.

Although the outcome was known for readers of revelations, there were so many unexpected deeper story lines that we weren’t aware of that there was plenty of suspense. Also, royce’s courtship of gwen was amazing to read and really showed royce in a new light. Plenty of comedy moments that make hadrian and royce so special.
