I was surprised by the quality of writing of this book, how the dialogue was build and how the author can put in beautiful and smooth words what the characters were feeling like herself. Just loved it, better than Fourth Wings, for sure.

I am disappointed because I really wanted this to be good. Maybe I would have even finished the book if the narrator’s voice wouldn’t fall flat on so many occasions. Emotionless, toneless… I felt nothing during emotional moments or when tension arose. I quit with only 2 hours and 20 minutes left because the „climax/love confession“ felt so hollow and dry I couldn’t bear it. Due to the terribly dull performance of the narrator I can’t even say if the author‘s at fault as well, so I will give it three stars because the beginning of the book was genuinely amazing and hooked me right away. The story itself seemed to fizzle out, became shallow and barely anything about the world gets revealed. If anyone is looking for a lore heavy romance book this isn’t it, sadly.
