I am normally not the biggest fan of stories that play in the modern world, for the simple reason that many problems arise from the power dynamics of our society. But this book has this problem not only solved but mastered and the way how it does that is brilliant. I will not spoiler it here for it is to be experienced. But it brings true warmth to my heart, that this book shows the true side of our society that is in power. On top of it the story is catching it is written very well and is full of twists and turns that you will not see coming. As for the reader, she hits all the right spots and brings the story to live not only that, but she also brings so much emotions into the people and their reactions, that I can feel with the characters. A book that I can happily recommend to all Fantasy-Hero-Villans fans.
A masterpiece like there are few.

Ein Satz muss nur gesagt werden. Es ist ein kleiner slow Burner. Die Geschichte baut vieles auf und nimmt sich Zeit vieles zu beleuchten. trifft dabei aber ein pacing was das ganze nicht zu nervig macht.
Meiner Meinung nach ein großartiges Ende.
Mehr sag ich dazu nicht.

nice story, worth the read!

high level critique (to improve for book two): sometimes stuff is too easy for her (especially "empire building") and her plans often work too flawlessly. her abilities and organizations are too unrestricted in a way that she often could do way more but she doesnt for no reasons. And some unforced errors like "telling people why you kill them".
