A wonderful story as always by SEP. Maybe at the end a little bit exaggerated concerning the main female character. especially the scene at the ruins. Still I can highly recommend listening to the audiobook.

2 Menschen befinden sich in einem großen Umbruch. Sie helfen sich gegenseitig bei ihrer Entwicklung und verlieben sich dabei ineinander.

Das habe ich bei Phillips schon zig x gelesen. Der Plot ist altbewährt- aber nicht langweilig!!

Halten Sie die Hörbuch-Ausgabe von Breathing Room für besser als das Buch?

I have the book as well as the audiobook and was pleasently surprised by the speaker. Kate Fleming is really excellent in portraying the different characters and I like her underlying sarcastic tone especially when the heroine gets a little bit too much in claiming her womanhood and her spirituality. The whole story is certainly not life changing, but it does what it is meant to do which is entertain. I thus wholeheartedly recommend this book, just one warning: you will want to book your Italian vacation right after...

Perhaps a reader who has never read / heard SEP before will like this book. I have read some of her books, however, and I found "Breathing Room" one of her weakest, if not the weakest work. It's basically the same storyline as in "Heaven Texas", only much less entertaining. Almost no comic twists but lots of endless 'claim your womanhood' sex scenes that put you to sleep. The heroine is a saint, the hero a sinner, and this dichotomy is so exaggerated that it becomes ridiculous, peaking when the heroin climbs up to an ancient castle in a slinky dress during a thunderstorm to "embrace the chaos" while offering an antique statue to the gods. Hero climbs after her and they have, you guessed it, thunderstorm sex. Buy this book and you'll embrache boredom.
