Cleeves is excellent not just on the mystery, but on the atmosphere of Fair Isle

I liked the book; the story and the reader are great. But did noone edit this after it was recorded? There were so many instances where passages were repeated or there was some background noises ( dogs, cars, children...). It seemed really unprofessional for this publisher and this platform

There were numerous mishaps with the editing in this one, which I hadn't noticed in the previous audiobooks, including the speaker blowing a raspberry into the mic (which did make me laugh out loud 😂). Foreseeable but still cool plottwist at the end. Nice to visit yet another of the scottish isles. I never quite get how Perez gets to the murderer at the end but it is overall a very enjoyable series so far.
