For the first time ever, the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society has produced an audio recording of all of Lovecraft's stories. These are not dramatizations like our Dark Adventure Radio Theatre - rather, this is an audiobook of the original stories, in all-new, never-before-heard recordings made by the HPLHS' own Andrew Leman and Sean Branney exclusively for this collection. Working from texts prepared by Lovecraft scholar S.T. Joshi, this collection spans his entire career from his earliest surviving works of childhood to stories completed shortly before his death. All tales include original music by HPLHS composer Troy Sterling Nies. This audio bonanza features 74 stories adding up to more than fifty (50!) hours of Lovecraftian listening fun, professionally performed and recorded for your enjoyment.

There is not much to say ...

A masterpiece

the readers do their job well, and one can hear their enthusiasm they have as part of the HP Lovecraft Society ;)

HP Lovecraft is somewhat different: he is a classic, as one of the predecessor, a prophet of horror and SF we have to thank him for these genres. his Cthuluh mythos itself founded a "new whole world" for other following authors .

his stories are full of crazy, spooky concepts and characters that merit to be mentioned.

however he is too a stout racist, and together with his "gothic, byzantine, old fashioned" style and therefore intense writing style , his evenly intense repetitive phrases make reading his stories indeed a nice bit of eye souring work. like a "real classic" ;)

his work is somehow becoming an anachronism: it's irritating to read all this xenophobic undertones and lengthy descriptions of yet an other old city where the legacy of Cthulu lives on ;)...

an audio book is even better to indulge the stories ;) - I can skip the unnecessary rants and boring passages easier ...

perfectly read, capturing lovecrafts old timey fears.
sadly despite the name there are a few of his works missing (due to him "only" ghostwriting them, i assume)

Still a great choice for horror fans

Almost perfect

Das ist definitiv mein Lieblings-Hörbuch.
Zum ersten mal in der Menschheitsgeschichte gibt es hier Lovecraft-Fans, die sein Werk kongenial vorlesen und interpretieren können.
Sehr schnittig.

Ein Schmankerl

Phenomenal performace by Leman an Branney. A real gem of an audiobook, worth every cent.
