Sehr guter Spannungsverlauf, eine Geschichte bei der man den Eindruck bekommt dabei zu sein. Der Erzähler lässt die Geschichte lebendig werden. Lediglich der Prolog hätte nicht sein müssen.

Aliens: Phalanx is like a perfect lovechild of Horizon: Zero Dawn’s post apocalyptic primal punk, Metro 2033’s claustrophobic and depressing underground society and Death Stranding‘s couriers navigating a frightening and deadly post apocalyptic land overrun by monsters to deliver desperately needed goods for mankind to survive. All that blended together with well integrated Alien lore and some classic greek warrior aesthetics makes a somewhat weird, but satisfying and charmingly innovate narrative inside a franchise that normally is rather limited in the stories it can tell.

Primal Punk meets Alien

Erwartet hatte ich eine Szenario in einem historischen Kontext, also Aliens vs. griechische Krieger. Bald aber wurde mir klar, dass da was ganz anderes dahinter stecken muss...

Ein erfrischend neuer Ansatz mit glaubwürdigen Charakteren, die mir schnell ans Herz wuchsen. Das Finale ist grandios, nur der Epilog hätte noch etwas umfangreicher sein können. Auch würde ich gern erfahren, wie es mit Ahiliyah, Creen und den anderen weitergeht - auch ohne Aliens. Das sagt viel Gutes über das Storytelling, die Charaktere und die angenehme Erzählweise des Sprechers aus.

I couldn't help thinking how this story felt a lot like that most recent entry into the Predator universe - Prey.
Setting the Alien into a completely new environment works very well imho. Not only isn't it the n-th take on a Weyland settlement, space station or Marines unit...but a desperate cave-dwelling society, but it also builds that world with characters you care for. Actually the Alien encounters are relatively sparse, but what they signify is always in the story. The sense or dread...
I loved it. Not the usual sci-fi fare, but if you are open-minded to new directions for this universe, this is one excellent story with a very good narrator.

Das Franchise ist so gut geeignet, um sich auch in andere Zeiten und Orte zu bewegen. Eine sehr schöne Geschichte!

Kino für den Kopf. Als Hörer bleibt man sprachlos zurück, und dankt dem Autor für diesen frischen Absatz im Alien-Universum.

This was not the Alien story I expected.
This was not the Alien story I wanted.
But this might have been the Alien story I needed.
Certainly one of the most original stories in the extended Alien universe and a must listen or read if you don't insist on more of the same Sci-Fi-Horror/Action but want something different with our beloved perfect organism. It really is different from most of the other stories, though I remember some comics in a similar vein, but none executed to such (near) perfection.
