Hands down one of the best books I've listened to so far! Couldn't put it away and listened to the whole book in three days. I've been recommending it to all my friends ever since!

Great story!

I loved the voice of the author and the whole premise of the book. The characters were likeable and I loved the vibe.

The only problem was, that the story was way too slow at the end and I felt like it were always the same conversations and moments.

Besutiful premise but slow ending

Sometimes I wondrr why publishers don't make authors delete unnecessary scenes from their drafts. This great idea for a novel was squeezed out a little too much. Yet, the characters will forever stay with me, along with some quotes!

... I don't enjoy listening to it very much. Donna Tartt is an amazing writer for sure but not a very good reader. The reading sounds awkward and the audio book is not half as enjoyable as it could be if it was read by a professional reader.

I might love the book, but....

the book is great, i don't think i need to get into it. but, because so many people complain about the reading, i would like to say that donna tartt's reading is lovely. it's authentic. and it's rare to see an author interpret their own work, especially one so enigmatic and opaque as miss tartt. it feels almost personal, oddly soothing. i like it very much, although it seems it's not for everyone. i can only recommend this with all my heart.
