This audio book gives a short, well-narrated, authoritative introduction into astrobiology. It covers both the origin of life in Earth and the possibility of life elsewhere.

I found it very understandable, the science is solid - or was, as the book itself is more than 10 years old. Some of the questions the author raised have been answered by now. Nevertheless, it still gives a very good outline of a new field, its methods and findings, is very accessible, and the narrator makes a very good job, too.

Brilliant introduction, but a bit dated

3/4 of the book is about biology on earth and the evolution from non-live to live. And the reading is much to slow, I speede it up to 1.4.

If you like a more speculative approach I recommend
