Since I’ve inhaled the entire Alex Verus series multiple times, I was looking for something as detailed and perfectly layed out but couldn’t find something similar. Until now!
Seems like my favourite Autor did it again!
This was the first book of hopefully many many more! Great plot, the story is unbelievably good and just like in the Alex Verus series the magic combined with style of storytelling is nothing more than perfect!
I just finished listening and I already want the time to go quicker so I can jump right into the next thrilling story of Stephen Oakwood! Damn I wished the second and maby third book were available already!

riveting. i was hooked from the start. masterclass in how to pack a metric ton of world building into an action spattered continuously high stakes slightly lower stakes carousel that just keeps on going. so glad i only found this now two weeks out from the sequel because i CANNOT WAIT for the next installment. Pre-order check.

The author manages to create a new fantasy world that is no less fascinating than the one of Alex Verus. The story itself is catching and REALLY leaves me longing for more.
I especially appreciate the effort the author makes to take you along the thinking process of the main character - you don’t end up with the feeling of “no one would act that way in reality” I get from other books.

Wie von Jacka gewohnt ist dieser Band sehr gut geschrieben, die Geschichte ist packend und macht Lust auf mehr. Der britische Sprecher ist fantastisch.
