What a great book! Yes, since it is over 50 years old, some aspects like technology and such have changed. But it is highly entertaining, with a wide-ranging cast of characters. In my own opinion, it is a MUST for every fan of the movie. To me it felt like the ultimate, super-extended directors-cut. And fans of the movie will also appreciate some of the background-stories that had to be left out of the move. I think in my opinion, this is the first time that a book and the movie work perfectly together, completing one another instead of competing. Truly awesome!

Diverse Einzelschicksale ergeben einen komplexen Plot, man kann nicht aufhören..

Hatte zuerst nicht auf dem Schirm, dass das Buch schon ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel hat, und mich daher so manches dann etwas irritiert hat und aus der Zeit gefallen wirkte. Wenn man das aber im Hinterkopf hat, ist es eine richtig tolle Story. Die Atmosphäre um den eingeschneiten Flughafen und die einzelnen Handlungsstränge der unterschiedlichen Protagonisten sind wirklich unglaublich gut beschrieben. Konnte das Hörbuch kaum weglegen und es wird mir sicher lange in Erinnerung bleiben
