A charming series of feisty middle-aged Agatha who has swapped a big city career for a quiet retirement in an idyllic Cotswold village. Except that she’s bored and so revels in investigating whether the new local vet didn’t die by mistake. She gets into all kinds of scrapes, there are more deaths and she doggedly romantically pursues her reluctant neighbour James. Well plotted and with nice gentle humour, enjoyable lighter, cosy read.
