+some light flirting but no romance or real love interest. focus is more on the personal stories of the characters.
-didn't like the MC in the beginning because she was unnecessarily mean to her police partner. they do warm up to each other eventually.
+nuanced "villain/ victim"
looking forward to the next book to hopefully see more character development.
