Having experienced his first survival type Trial, Trent Embra is eager to explore what else the world has to offer.

I just love this series! The story is great and the reader is pleasant to listen to.

die Geschichte ist im Vergleich zum ersten Teil ziemlich verstreut. Bezug auf vorher wichtige Personen ist nur wenig vorhanden... generell ist der zweite Teil nicht sehr aussagekräftig... hoffentlich liefert der nächste Teil mehr Substanz.

First up: I'll definitely continue this series because I love the world and (most) of the characters.

But this should never have been a publication of it's own. It's a continuation of the story but there was no overarching plot for this "book". Feels like a money grab ..

A bit sad but very good nonetheless. The only slight complaint is that some characters seem to be a bit too impulse-driven at times.

Second book was quite the disappointment after the first volume. It feels more like the first part of what should have been the next book in the series. The main character seems to get more stupid and underperforms constantly which is a shame. I really hope the next book will be s good as the first one!
