Chris DiSano-Davenport is an avid reader and collector of fairy tale legends that compels her to live in two worlds. The outer world is a place she can physically hug her family and hold her dogs in relief and relaxation from the hustle and bustle of daily life experiences; and the other, well... is her escape through the sheer curtain of immortality, enchanted to create from sensibility and awareness in words and on canvas. This is her special place filled with animation, imagination, magic and mystery. She knew her purpose as a creator from childhood, as she was gifted with a passion for art that took her on a journey of self-discovery and self-teaching. Her inner world of ideas and using every medium she could get her hands on expanded her creativity from a deep search for the meaning of life that brought her characters alive through a new found expression in storytelling. This is where she encompasses both literary and illustrative artistry with the desire to touch that magical place in all of us, a place where she meets the child within. Chris' Little People family was inspired by her husband Kerwin who is a member of the Meskwaki tribe. She now lives in Iowa near her husband's Meskwaki settlement with their dogs Wakanda and Winston, and teaches art in her own studio. Her enlightening children's series about the Little People is to be continued...
