Amy Gillett is the author of Speak English Around Town, Speak English Like an American, More Speak English Like an American, Speak Business English Like an American, and Speak Better Business English and Make More Money. Amy draws on her years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language in the USA and Europe. She has taught business English to students at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Her students are always pleased by her lively teaching style. Amy's writing has appeared in many publications, including Mad Magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, and Family Circle. She majored in Slavic Languages and Literature at Stanford University and holds an MBA from Cornell University. She has studied and worked in many countries, including Russia, the Czech Republic, and Italy. Amy's love of languages started when she was 13 and enrolled in her first foreign language class (French). From there, she went on to study an additional six languages, including German. Having studied all of these languages, she is sympathetic to the struggles of the language student! She makes her materials fun to use, with clear explanations and up-to-date information.
