I listened to the first book in this series which had a few glitches. Like the heroine had panic attacks. Was uncomfortable driving in unfamiliar areas but on the other side zoned out while driving and just recognized that it was heavily snowing when there was already too much snow on the street.

There were inconsistencies but I shipped one of the main characters. And all in all they had issues and happened to work on them.

This was entirely different. The first part tried to explain why the main male character was deeply troubled by his past and recent events but really didn't. I somehow committed to the overall story of the series and there were actually good parts. Mostly I wanted to slap the heroine despite her having a death wish and I would have actually bludgeoned the hero.

And why all the slut shaming? When you describe in graphic detail how all the male counterparts are actively very much promiscuous on an almost
daily basis?

This story is absolutely unrealistic and ridiculous. The male character is totally cliché, the female character is annoying and shallow. The sex parts are just bad and the male narrator has an upspeak at the end of the sentences (when he speaks the female voices) that is annoying and makes the female characters all sound the same.
