First of all, this is definitely a great book. The reason I have a problem with it is the female MC 's tragic life history of having been kidnapped as a child and held captive and abused for years. The book is written with great love, sensitivity and the author has given much thought to mapping out the feelings and emotions of her characters. Only that with all this tragic history, I am too much caught up in my own emotions of horror, compassion and worry to feel a happy, lighthearted, let alone sexy way reading this, which I'd expected. So it wasn't the book which is exceptional, but rather my own gloom that stood in conflict here. Yes, it's a beautiful romance and you'll be happy for this couple, maybe more than for anyone else to have found their happily ever after. It is also a romance that deals with severe trauma which is not easily digestible for everyone and most of all, doesn't really lend itself for some steamy hot entertainment. So my warning is, know what to expect and you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for some hot entertainment, this is not the book to read.
