Additionally, further studies support that learning a second language is one of the most effective and practical ways to increase intelligence, keep your mind sharp, and buffer your brain against aging.

As a native English-speaking mother of four, I'm grateful that I had the foresight to provide my babies with the gift of not just being bilingual, but trilingual. Seventeen years later, my four children are still fluently speaking English, French, and Spanish.
