Demons of Morningstar

Nothing brightens up a Monday like finding out you're the spawn of Satan. The big bad is dead and now Satan's spawn must fight for the Morningstar throne. I'm tossed into the ring, whether I want to be there or not. I'm mostly human, a hunter by trade, and totally outmatched by my half siblings. The chance I'll survive these tests and claim the throne is slim. Then someone starts assassinating my siblings. It's only a matter of time until I'm next.

The Powers that rule Morningstar believe death is a game, and my siblings and I are the unwilling players. The only way to be free is it to destroy the ascension contracts. So, I'm headed into the demon realm to convince the princes to do just that. I won't be going alone. I'll have Artimus as a guide, a bodyguard provided by the Duke of Flame, and my siblings. I know we can do this.

The last thing I expected from death was a second chance. I've been altered and now I'm a threat to Morningstar. If the forces working against me have their way, then I'll be dying again, and this time, they'll be no coming back. The clock is ticking, and I'm not sure I'll be able to get out of this situation alive. Hidden truths, secrets, and lies surround me. I hate all three. It's time to pull back the veil and reveal what's lurking behind it.

We're no longer in the demon realm and clicking my heels together won't get us home. One powerful thought somehow transported us away from a river of lava and into a land of icy winds and devastation. One powerful thought saved our lives. But a celebration is on hold while we focus on survival because there is no escape. Not unless the princes come for us. The trials are over. A monarch must be chosen. But if the princes don't find us soon, there'll be no one left to choose from.

Satan's killer found a way past my defenses and into my heart. He stole something valuable from me and that theft could cost me something even dearer. I'll have to race against time to stop him, and if I fail then our whole world could fall. I can't let that happen. Not on my watch.

Sacrifices are acceptable when you're not the one making them. With Arty's life hanging in the balance, nothing else matters. Until it does. The rift in the abyss is opening.
