Corsairs & Cataclysms

An experimental ASI with a terminal case of curiosity reached out and tampered with the universe in a way that it should not have, and unleashed a torrent of energy we would call magic into our galaxy. Humans, and every other intelligent lifeform for that matter, were ill-prepared, physically and mentally, for such an eventuality. In an effort to save itself, the ASI hastily created something it called the Framework to shape and codify this magical energy, and usher in a new world. A world of classes, levels, and extraordinary power. But also a world of monsters.

The first week is in Torin's rear view, and he has survived the apocalypse that overran the world. He has thwarted the attempts of the sea god Sholmdir to bring his reign to an unceremonious early end and secured an island stronghold in the middle of Lake Michigan in the bargain. With a base of operations, it's time to start building his crew. He needs to return to the mainland and start emptying the prisons. Those who can be trusted will be signed to his canon. There are other uses for those who can't.

Torin has seen off several threats against him and his burgeoning faction the Shattered Storm. However, time is ticking down on the primary quest from his patron, the Shattered Goddess. He promised to utterly destroy Luca Gattosi before a year had passed. Months have gone by and he is no closer to taking his rival down. In fact, the opposite is true. Luca has only grown stronger. The window of opportunity to act is getting smaller with every day. But things are not so simple that Torin can switch his focus whenever he wishes.

Torin has been victorious against his self-proclaimed arch-enemy Luca Gattosi. The Brotherhood of the Lion's Claw has fallen. All of their territory had been absorbed into the Shattered Storm's growing empire. This has not come without a cost. Torin is suffering from a prolonged debuff that endangers his life and he has put his trust in the young Jackson to act on his behalf and further the Shattered Storm's ends in Pandaemonium.

Torin has achieved a great deal and built his personal strength and that of his faction, the Shattered Storm, to heights few on Earth can match. Unfortunately for him, his greatest challengers do not hail from Earth. Mercenaries from all over the Darkwyrlds have made landfall on the planet to destroy Torin's home and take his head back to the Dominarius Consortium.
