During my 30-year career in the military, I read many books on leadership and human potential, but none of them really stirred my thinking like the book The Heart of a Leader by Ken Blanchard. That’s why, when I became an author, I knew I wanted to put together a book like his, a book that could help other people like his book had helped me. I really hope the quotes in this book and my thoughts on them will help you grow as a leader, but perhaps more importantly, I hope they inspire you to develop higher level thoughts of your own.

Do you believe leaders are born? In the early years of my career, I believed that I didn’t stand a chance of ever becoming a successful leader. This was largely because I had developed a belief that leaders were born and not made. Perhaps many of you have heard or come to believe this as well. I’m here to tell you, after 30 years in the Air Force, I have learned that nothing is further from the truth. In this audiobook I will share with you nine of the lessons I learned throughout my career.
