All could be lost if the Shadow were to break from its confinement. Crox visits the forest where he had a horrific car crash years earlier. He was saved from death by a tiny kitten that lived in the woods. He names the life-saving kitten Lucky. While walking in the woods, he comes across a black cat with emerald green eyes, the same color Lucky had.
