The criminal gang known as the Black Hellions knows the truth about Sorin’s origins—and they’re determined to make him pay for it. Sorin has no choice but to climb faster, pushing himself and his team toward the power they’ll need to survive. But the Hellions aren’t the only ones hunting them. Nemari’s family hasn’t forgiven her betrayal, and they have no intention of allowing her to grow beyond their reach. As Sorin and his companions climb higher, they gain new allies and draw the attention of increasingly powerful enemies.

Those who reach the top of the tower supposedly become immortal. After forty years of calculated risks, dead companions, and spent fortunes, Sorin Atharel makes it. The reward? His soul space stripped bare, all his abilities ripped away, and his anima drained to nothing. He wakes in the bottom floor of a tower, but not his tower. Surrounded by strangers in a strange city, he quickly realizes the truth. Far from becoming immortal, his whole life has been reset. If he wants answers to what was done to him, there’s only one way to get strong enough to find them.

Max is finally getting a handle on the skill, finding enjoyment in battling and striving to grow his skills and stats. His new friends don't know the whole truth, but they flee trouble together, arriving at the human capital of Peltagow. With a new city to explore and dungeons to delve, the party sets their sights on gaining levels and acquiring stronger items.
