  • Cavs, Cougars both suffer championship defeats in snowy Ontario
    Nov 10 2025

It's the final weekend for the two Calgary teams that made it to a national championship. Both Cavalry FC and the Mount Royal Cougars men's team were faced with snowy conditions in Ontario. Both matches went into extra time and both teams ultimately lost their games.

We review Cavalry FC's 2-1 loss to Atletico Ottawa in a rather unforgettable match especially when it comes to the weather.

The Cougars were a few hundred km to the southwest in Toronto but faced similar snowy conditions. Their match ended in a 1-0 victory for York with a controversial handball call giving the Lions a penalty for the win.
