  • Cavalry, Wild announce signings with training camps approaching
    Jan 23 2026

We're back for our first episode of 2026. Training camps for both the Wild and Cavalry will be starting soon, and both clubs are making roster moves.

Cavalry has signed Nate Ingham and Amer Didic, and has said farewell to several players including Shamit Shome. We discuss these moves and speculate on players who could join the team prior to the start of training. We also discuss Tommy Wheeldon Jr's stint with the Canadian National Team in California.

The Calgary Wild haven't made much noise about signing new players yet, but they did announce they are bringing in American keeper Katelyn Talbert. We also found out about the departure of sporting director Alix Bruch. Is Lydia Bedford getting more actively involved in player recruitment and signing? It looks like the Wild are going to retain about 80% of their roster from 2025, which didn't make the playoffs. Should they just be tweaking or do they really need a roster overhaul?

We also provide some updates about Calgarians joining clubs around the world, including Chanan Chanda, Myla and Emma Schneider and Finn Linder among others. And we discuss the results of the Voyageurs Cup draw. Cavalry faces Pacific (again) and the Blizzard go to Montreal to face a MLS club.

The Calgary Wild announced that six players will not return for 2026. We speculate on the rationales behind these moves. Perhaps the most interesting player leaving is starting keeper Stephanie Bukovec and we delve into possible reasons for her release.

We also provide updates on a range of players from Mya Jones, Elijah Adekugbe, Bryn Mortensen, Jorda James, Sydney Wathuta and others.
