Ohio State may possess the highest ceiling with Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith, but the Buckeyes face significant defensive turnover and a brutal path. Indiana must replace a Heisman Trophy quarterback and major championship production, yet Curt Cignetti’s transfer-portal record keeps the Hoosiers firmly in contention.
    The dark-horse tier includes USC, Michigan, Penn State and Washington. USC has the offensive talent to disrupt the race if Gary Patterson repairs the defense.
