Some scholars note that 16 of His 38 parables directly dealt with money, highlighting its role in teaching about stewardship, generosity, and spiritual focus. Paul’s prayer was that when he stood trial, he would speak courageously for Christ, he would live for Christ and not be timid or ashamed. Whether he lived or died, he wanted to exalt Christ. Paul had a goal for his life and he had hope. Thinking about this, 3 thoughts come to mind: 1) What does living for Christ mean? 2) What does it mean when I’m torn between two desires? 3) Is it OK to have pride in Christ Jesus because of what he is done for us?     We don’t need to be historical characters… we need to be just as we are. The Bible teaches that God values the heart and obedience over mere ritual. Acceptable worship involves a sincere heart, a life of obedience, and a commitment to justice and mercy. The Bible warns against conforming to the customs of this world, the Bible calls for transformation of mind and heart, and urges believers to live in distinct, godly ways that honor God and resist worldly influences. God’s will isn’t a secret, but being in tune with God’s will is not complicated. All we have to do is know how to recognize his voice when he is speaking to us and then have the courage to do what he tells us. Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Only when the Holy Spirit renews, re-educates, and redirects our mind are we truly transformed.
