• Episode 27: The Growing Spirit: Branwen Walker's Transformational Journey through Grief, Sobriety, Healing & Spiritual Growth
    May 30 2025

    ⚠️ Trigger Warning:

This episode contains sensitive content including the loss of a family member to suicide. Please listen with care, and seek support if you are in a vulnerable place.

In this soul-stirring episode of the Sober Chapters podcast, host Didi Jordan is joined by Branwen Walker, an intensive care nurse who shares her powerful and deeply personal journey through grief, sobriety, and spiritual transformation. After losing her father to suicide, Branwen turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism. Though she led what many would consider a healthy lifestyle, alcohol had quietly become a destructive force that amplified her emotional pain.

Everything changed one day in a pharmacy queue. As she waited for antidepressants, a poster about alcohol's impact on mental health caught her attention and sparked a realisation. That moment led to a courageous decision to remove alcohol from her life and begin a journey of healing from the inside out.

Now eight months sober and having recently completed the Sober Chapters 100 program, Branwen reflects on what it means to truly feel again. Without alcohol numbing her emotions, she discovered the raw beauty of presence, the ability to experience life fully, including its grief, joy, uncertainty, and hope. Her story offers a powerful reminder that sobriety isn’t about losing out; it’s about gaining clarity, peace, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Branwen speaks openly about navigating social events like weddings and hen parties while staying alcohol-free, and how each challenge strengthened her confidence. She also shares the profound spiritual reconnection she experienced in sobriety, describing how nature, stillness, and self-trust began to guide her in new ways. Her mantra, “anything that falls away is meant to,” speaks to the deep inner shifts that occur when we prioritize our well-being and let go of what no longer serves us.

Now training to become an alcohol-free coach herself, Branwen is using her story to help others heal and feel less alone. Her path is a testament to how our personal healing can become our greatest gift to others.

  • Episode 26: Navigating Boozy Families & Trips Down Memory Lane: Love, Travel & Healing Old Wounds with Didi & Pete
    May 16 2025

What happens when you explore the heart of England—its historic pubs, family homes, and cobblestone streets without a drop of alcohol? In this deeply honest episode, host Didi Jordan is joined by her partner Pete as they travel together through England completely sober.

Together, they share how navigating British pub culture, family reunions, and memories of a difficult past became a powerful journey of connection, clarity, and healing. For Pete, it’s a cultural immersion from Canada into the pub-centric traditions of England; for Didi it’s a return to her roots, facing old wounds and rewriting her story from a grounded, alcohol-free perspective.

The two reflect on what it means to build a romantic relationship without alcohol, how sobriety helps maintain clear emotional boundaries, and how deeply healing it can be to meet your past with presence rather than numbing. With non-alcoholic IPAs on tap and a growing cultural shift toward mindful drinking, they also highlight how sober travel is becoming more accessible than ever.

Whether you’re new to sobriety or already walking your alcohol-free path, this episode offers inspiration for how travel can become a portal for personal growth, spiritual insight, and relationship transformation.

  • Episode 25: Sober & Seen: The Power of Vulnerability in Love with Didi & Pete
    May 2 2025

In this vulnerable and heart-opening episode of the Sober Chapters Podcast, I’m joined by my partner Pete Wright as we reflect on the relationship sobriety has enabled us to build from opposite ends of the world.

From Perth, Australia to the Yukon, Canada our love story is anything but ordinary. But it’s our shared choice to live alcohol-free that brought us together made the depth of this connection possible.

Pete opens up about his own path: from being a high-functioning drinker masking trauma, to discovering that sobriety isn't a weakness it was his superpower. He shares the moment everything shifted for him, sitting in the audience at Lewis Howes’ Summit of Greatness, when he realised alcohol was the last thing standing between him and the life he was truly capable of.

    • Building a relationship rooted in vulnerability, not performance
    • Navigating difficult conversations with regulated nervous systems
    • How sobriety invites us into deeper connection, purpose, and truth
    • Why alcohol-free relationships allow you to be fully seen — and fully loved

  • Episode 23: From Daily Drinking to Daily 'Pinch Me' Moments: Morgaine’s Powerful Story
    Apr 6 2025

What happens when you finally break free from a 17-year pattern of daily drinking? Morgaine joins Didi to share her remarkable nine-month sobriety journey that transformed not just her physical appearance—losing nearly 40 pounds—but her entire relationship with herself and her future.

Morgaine's powerful story reveals the subtle ways alcohol can dominate our identity without us fully recognising it. Despite maintaining a successful career and regular exercise routine, she found herself secretly drinking in the mornings during the pandemic, creating elaborate justifications, and feeling increasingly trapped in a cycle she couldn't escape alone. The turning point came when she stopped trying to moderate and instead questioned her fundamental beliefs about alcohol through coaching support.

The conversation explores how our ego's can begin to glamorize and miss drinking despite knowing how destructive it was. Both women share how journaling revealed years of setting the same goals while remaining stuck in patterns, and how sobriety finally unlocked the door to genuine progress and possibility.

Today, Morgaine coaches other women through their own alcohol-free journeys, describing her new life as a daily "pinch me" moment she never imagined possible. Her message radiates hope that anyone feeling that intuitive nudge toward questioning their relationship with alcohol is already on their path to transformation. Ready to discover what might be waiting for you beyond drinking?

  • Episode 22: ADHD, Alcohol and the Path to Authenticity with Tracey Bromley-Goodwin
    Mar 22 2025

What happens when you remove the veil that's been clouding your intuition? Tracy Bromley-Godwin, an ADHD and Mindset Coach, discovered the answer to this question when she embarked on her alcohol-free journey two years ago. Her story begins with a simple Reiki training recommendation to abstain from alcohol before sessions, which opened her eyes to how drinking was affecting her energetic channels and amplifying her anxiety.

For Tracy, removing alcohol wasn't just about better sleep or fewer hangovers, it was a spiritual awakening that allowed her to hear her inner guidance with unprecedented clarity. "I was following a little trail of breadcrumbs," she explains, "and since I stopped drinking, that path became so clear." This clarity ultimately led her to transform her career, shifting from working primarily with children with ADHD to coaching high-achieving adults who struggle with similar challenges.
The conversation delves deep into the relationship between ADHD, anxiety, and alcohol use. Tracy dispels common misconceptions about ADHD, explaining that it's not about an inability to focus but rather a surplus of focus — paying attention to everything simultaneously. For those with racing minds who drink to slow their thoughts, alcohol often achieves the opposite effect by disrupting executive functioning skills like emotional regulation and prioritization.
Whether you're questioning your relationship with alcohol, curious about ADHD, or simply seeking greater clarity and connection in your life, this conversation offers valuable insights about the unexpected gifts that emerge when we remove what's clouding our intuition and embrace our true selves.
