Do you lack knowledge about how to start your own practice? Are you tired of constantly wondering if you’ll have enough sessions this week to cover your bills? Are you afraid of offering Christian counseling because you’re unsure how to do it legally and ethically? Do you fear that if you start your own practice that it won’t be successful? In this podcast, you will find practical steps, strategies, and solutions that will help you create a sustainable therapy practice that aligns with your values and your God-given dreams. It is my mission to empower Christian therapists and counselors to make a positive impact on the world through the development of strong business skills and clinical excellence, while growing in intimacy with God. If you are ready to leave behind uncertainty, escape burnout, and feel more confident in your ability to run a successful business that aligns with God’s heart and your desire to make a difference, this is the place for you. Hi, I’m Kimberly. I’m a Jesus-lover, business coach for mental health professionals, and private practice owner. Upon graduating with my MA in Clinical Psychology in 2012, I set out to positively impact the world for Christ through my work as a therapist. As a single, 24-year-old living in Los Angeles with over six figures of student loan debt, I struggled to find a job that spoke to my passion for Christian counseling, paid the bills, and did not result in quick burnout. However, I lacked knowledge of basic business skills and grappled internally with how to navigate working in a culture that often conflicted with my Christian faith. I wondered how I could provide Christian counseling in a way that was legal and ethical while aligning my clients with the truth. In 2015, I started building my private practice from scratch. Several times I nearly closed its doors, ready to settle for the consistent paycheck that came from the schools and agencies I was working for, despite being underpaid, overworked, and seeing clients that were not a great fit for me. Yet every time that I nearly quit, the Lord somehow made it very clear that his heart was for me to run my own business. I often struggled with feeling selfish for not wanting to work on weekends or evenings, feeling greedy for charging a decent hourly rate and feeling incompetent to counsel my clients through the many issues and concerns that they brought to me. I struggled with feeling weak for not enjoying seeing more than 4-5 clients a day. I finally realized that it was possible to have a practice that suited my needs and also served the needs of my clients. I finally realized that running my own business allows me to implement standards of excellence that allow clients to have a good experience with therapy. I finally realized that God not only cares about the clients that I wanted to help, but also cares significantly about me, my own wellbeing, and how I experience my life. If you are ready to make a greater impact on your clients while also being able to enjoy a career that meets your financial needs, doesn’t drain your emotional capacity, and aligns with your God-given purpose, then you are in the right place! So put on your cozy sweater, grab your mug of coffee, and let’s dive in!Copyright 2025 All rights reserved. • Dealing with resistance? Protect your private practice from spiritual attack
    Jun 16 2025

Have you been battling resistance in your private practice? Are you struggling with low motivation, ruminating thoughts regarding your ability to succeed, or overwhelming anxiety that leaves you paralyzed and unable to move forward? It’s possible that you are experiencing spiritual attack. One thing I’ve learned as a faith-led clinician is that Satan doesn’t like me or the work that I’m doing. That’s a good thing, but it means he’s going to try to stop me. The more effective we become as believers working in the field of mental health, the more of a threat we are to the enemy. We need to be aware of spiritual attack in our practice so we can be on guard against it.

In this episode, I’ll teach you how to recognize spiritual attack and how you can respond effectively so you can outsmart the enemy and move forward as an empowered warrior for the Kingdom of God.
