We're saving the world, but losing the girl this week with the debut album from Midtown. Hailing from New Brunswick, New Jersey, they were one of the early breakthrough Drive-Thru Records bands that really helped put the label on the map.

We've got a lot of history with this band, from the shirts we probably should've bought in a few bigger sizes, to one particularly infamous Midtown headline show that Duncan somehow managed to miss with a ticket in his wallet. We spent some money on Midtown, but hey, come on... It's Just Rock and Roll!

Here on The Pod Punk Cast, we're so sick of being tired, and so tired of being sick. The reason why? Taking Back Sunday's debut album Tell All Your Friends. When it arrived on Victory Records in 2002, it changed the emo and post-hardcore landscape forever, an instant classic! This was the album we were all so obviously desperate, and desperately obvious for.

Plus, a full recap, as we unpack our recent trip to Montreal for the Warped Tour at Parc Jean-Drapeau!

CALLING ALL CARS! CALLING ALL CARS!

We're starting the takeover with Four Year Strong's Rise or Die Trying. This record became the blueprint for the 'easycore' subgenre. Driven by the dual-vocals of Alan Day and Dan O'Connor, this album delivers those upbeat, heavy chugging hardcore breakdowns that wrecked us, and damn near killed us when it dropped in 2007! They are a must see at this summer's Warped Tour in Montreal.

So dust off the old multi-disc CD shelf stereo, queue up the album, and prepare to be digitally manipulated!

Up next on the Warped Tour lineup is Tallahassee, Florida's own Mayday Parade. They're at the front of the class, and today's subject is A Lesson In Romantics.

Not a whole lot we agree on with this one, but their debut album from 2007 is packed with hooks, heartbreak, and song titles that are somehow longer than some of the songs themselves.

Set your alarms for 6 o'clock, because it's time we discuss Alkaline Trio's debut album, Goddamnit! One of the latest additions to this year's Montreal Warped Tour, they've given us the perfect excuse to book a trip to the City of Festivals this summer. It may not be Halloween yet, but it's always Alky season.

Released in 1998 on Asian Man Records, Alkaline Trio gave us what many consider the greatest debut punk album ever made.

So, enjoy your day, enjoy the episode, and "don't forget to let your life rot you inside out"

Blood Pact for life.

Get those violins tuned up, because this week we're covering the fourth release from Yellowcard, Ocean Boulevard... I mean Ocean Avenue!

This episode is being posted on the albums twenty-third anniversary, a true summer release that screams going to the beach. They certainly had us daydreaming about Califor-NYE-AY when we were in a band.

With no consensus on this album, you be the referee: does it get a red card, a yellow card, or do we just play on?

With the Warped Tour just around the corner, the festival excitement continues with the debut album from Montreal, Quebec, hometown heroes Simple Plan.

Get out the CD book, because it's about time for a party at my house, and it wouldn't be the same without you. This week we're discussing the major-label debut, and fourth full-length album from Bremerton, Washington's own MxPx!

Released in June of 1998, "Slowly Going The Way Of The Buffalo" feels like the perfect summer album. And with MxPx playing this year's Warped Tour, they're right at the top of our list of bands we can't wait to see.

God bless Magnified Plaid.
