  • Forgiven People Forgive
    Oct 6 2026

    Matthew 18:21-35

Our brother Will Dicus brings us a very important message on forgiveness from the very mouth of Jesus. Our Lord commanded us not to only forgive once, or twice, or even ten times, but to not set a limit on how many times we are to extend forgiveness to someone. This may seem like an impossible command sometimes given what certain people may put us through, but all of that pales in comparison when we think about the debt that Christ for which died to forgive us. If Jesus can go to the cross with joy set before Him then we certainly can extend forgiveness to anyone and everyone that wrongs us in this life. Not only are we to forgive someone for their sake, but we are to find forgiveness in our hearts for our own sake. Bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness are like a poison that we drink expecting it to hurt the other person.

As we have broken through into the latter part of the year, it seems as though the Lord has still been leading Pastors Cory and Troy on a path speaking directly to the church and our Christian walk. Starting at the beginning of the year, Pastor Troy began to preach a series on vision and the church, and Pastor Cory has taken a break from Ephesians to bring messages that are very timely for us as a church. There have been powerful messages that we hope you will go back and listen to. These men of God bring us a word from the Lord every week and we pray that you are blessed from this word as well during this season of our lives.

The calling for every Christian is to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Well, where does the earth begin and where does it end? For us at Bald Mountain Baptist Church, the world begins in the Shumont Community on top of a little peak in Buncombe County, NC. Our prayer is that through this platform we might do our part in reaching the ends of the earth with the gospel!

Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

    Isaiah 42:10-11

  • The Church That Christ Started
    Sep 28 2026

    1 Thessalonians 1:1-10 |

Pastor Cory elbow dropped this text right to our souls this morning. Paul is writing to a church at Thessalonica that, even amidst persecution and spiritual warfare, was committed to being a sounding board for the gospel in the world. They labored in love and were longsuffering as they faced attacks from without and within. They were a church that not only received the blessed light of Jesus Christ, but one that shined that light into the darkness all around them. They understood that each member had a ministry, that they were helpless without the power of God, and that they were transformed not by their own will but by the will of God. The church that Christ started was a church that did not shy away from standing for Him.

As we have broken through into the latter part of the year, it seems as though the Lord has still been leading Pastors Cory and Troy on a path speaking directly to the church and our Christian walk. • The Depth of Nehemiah's Concern
    Sep 20 2026

    Nehemiah 1:4-11 |

Pastor Troy finishes chapter 1 of Nehemiah with an in-depth look at the concern that Nehemiah has for the people and nation of Israel. Not only do we have to take Nehemiah's word for it, his actions indicate just how burdened he was for the city and land he has never seen with his own eyes. He was so burdened that he wept and mourned over the city, he fasted for many days. He was so burdened that he interceded on behalf of the nation and took responsibility himself for God's judgment against them. He was so burdened that he never gave up in his praying and seeking God for Him to move and restore His people. May we be so burdened over the decline of the American church and the darkness we see in this world today. May we be so burdened for our families, communities, and nation. May we not just say we are concerned. May we show it by our actions.
