  • Hungry Hill: The Ghost's of Oniontown
    Oct 14 2025

Grim Mourning, and welcome to The Grim. In this haunting episode, host Kristin leads you through the Old Wethersfield Village Cemetery in Wethersfield, Connecticut, a quiet resting place steeped in colonial history, witchcraft, and ghostly legend.

Once home to the Wongunk people, this land became one of Connecticut’s earliest settlements. Here lie Puritan founders, Revolutionary heroes, and exiled witches, their stories carved into slate and sandstone. From Leonard Chester and Colonel John Chester to the tragic patriot Silas Deane, each grave whispers of a nation’s uneasy birth.

You’ll uncover the chilling tale of Katherine Harrison, accused of witchcraft decades before Salem, and explore reports of cold spots, phantom voices, and shadowy figures that still wander Hungry Hill.

Part history, part haunting, this episode unearths the forgotten souls of Old Wethersfield, where memory refuses to rest and the veil between past and present grows thin.

Step through the gate if you dare.

  • The Asylum of Horror
    Oct 7 2025

In this chilling October episode of The Grim, host Kristin guides listeners through the forgotten cemetery of Danvers State Hospital, once known as the “Palace on the Hill.” Located in Danvers, Massachusetts, this infamous asylum was built in 1878 on land tied to Judge John Hathorne of the Salem Witch Trials, a curse many believe doomed it from the start.

The hospital became a symbol of overcrowding, neglect, and experimental treatments—earning notoriety as the birthplace of the lobotomy. Though most of the complex was demolished in 2006, the asylum’s ghosts linger in its tunnels, ruins, and overgrown burial ground. Nearly 800 patients lie in numbered graves, their names erased by stigma, their voices silenced by time.

Kristin explores both the history and the hauntings of Danvers: disembodied voices, phantom footsteps, shadow figures, and chilling EVP recordings captured by paranormal investigators. The asylum’s legacy has seeped into horror culture—from H. P. Lovecraft’s Arkham Sanitarium to films like Session 9.

Through the Danvers State Memorial Committee’s efforts, fragments of identity are being restored to the forgotten dead. But the asylum’s cemetery remains one of New England’s most haunted places—where whispers drift among the stones and sorrow hangs heavy in the air.

  • Unwelcomed Ghosts
    Sep 30 2025

The Grim is stepping through the moss-draped gates of All Saints’ Church Cemetery on Pawleys Island, South Carolina, where history and legend intertwine beneath the Lowcountry oaks. In this episode of The Grim, we explore one of the South’s most hauntingly beautiful graveyards, an acre of romance and ruin where ghost stories refuse to rest.

Beneath weathered stones lie the names of Carolina’s planters, patriots, poets, and governors, their legacies etched in marble and memory. Yet it is the ghosts of Pawleys Island that draw travelers and storytellers alike. From the cloaked figure of the Gray Man, said to appear before hurricanes as both omen and protector, to the tragic tale of Alice Flagg, whose restless spirit still searches for her lost ring, the cemetery’s legends echo through salt air and shadow.

We trace the church’s origins from the 18th century to its fiery rebirth in 1917, uncovering stories of Southern history woven with grief, resilience, and Gothic beauty. As autumn deepens and the veil thins, the graveyard becomes more than sacred ground. It is a stage where mourning, faith, and folklore converge.

Whether you come seeking Lowcountry history, haunted cemeteries, or the timeless allure of Southern Gothic ghost stories, All Saints’ Cemetery is a place where the past lingers and the dead are never truly silent.
