• The Future Is Now | The Future Is Now, Part 1
    Oct 12 2026

    Episode Summary:
In this kickoff message to our new series, we challenge the culture of hopelessness and remind believers that the future is framed by the decisions we make in faith today. Grounded in Colossians 2:7, 2 Corinthians 9:6, and Hebrews 11:8, this message lays a clear foundation for stepping out of fear and into the authority God has given us right now. Instead of passively waiting to be rescued from a world that seems dark, we are called to actively occupy our faith where we are. Tune in as we explore what it truly means to grow in faith, sow in faith, and go in faith in our everyday lives.

    Main Scripture:

    • Colossians 2:7
    • 2 Corinthians 9:6
    • Hebrews 11:8
    • Jeremiah 17:7
    • Romans 8:19
    • Isaiah 9:6

    Big Idea:
The future is now because God has given us authority today to grow, sow, and go in faith as we say yes to Him.

    In This Episode:

    • Rejecting Hopelessness: Why the future is not bleak and how God's kingdom is continuously increasing through the authority given to the church.
    • Growing in Faith: Understanding that true spiritual growth happens deep beneath the surface in unseen root systems before visible fruit appears.
    • Sowing in Faith: Applying kingdom math—recognizing that our harvest is determined by the seeds of love, generosity, and kindness we choose to sow.
    • Going in Faith: Following Abraham’s example by stepping out and saying yes to God’s calling even before we have all the details or answers.
    • Overcoming Fear and Doubt: How receiving God’s perfect love casts out fear and transforms uncertainty into deep relational trust.

    Reflection Questions:

    1. Dreaming with God: What do I believe God wants for me and my family in this next season?
    2. Hidden Growth: What unseen root work might God be doing in my life right now that I need to be patient with?
    3. Kingdom Sowing: What kind of harvest have I been expecting, and does it reflect the seeds I am currently sowing?
    4. Relational Loving: Where have I tried to fix or change people instead of simply loving them and letting the Holy Spirit work?
    5. Faithful Steps: What small step of obedience is God asking me to take today, even if I do not have all the details yet?

    Next Steps:

    1. Carve out intentional time this week to get alone with God and ask, “What do You want from me and my family in this next season?”
    2. Talk openly with your family and children about what you are together trusting and believing God for.
    3. Pick one specific spiritual practice this week to deepen your roots in Christ and cultivate intimacy with Him.
    4. Intentionally sow one seed of faith—whether through unexpected kindness, generosity, encouragement, or simple obedience.
    5. Bring any lingering fear or unbelief honestly before the Lord, receiving His perfect love without any condemnation.

  • Back to Basics - Worship | Back to Basics, Week 5
    Oct 7 2026

    Episode Summary:

In the final message of Back to the Basics, we return to worship and what it means under the new covenant. From Jesus’ words in John 4, we see that worship is much more than a few songs on Sunday; it is our response to the goodness, presence, and finished work of God. This message challenges old-covenant thinking that treats worship as a way to get God’s attention, love, favor, or presence, and instead calls us to worship from what we have already received in Christ. Through prayer, praise, and awareness of God’s passion for us, worship becomes a way of life.

    Main Scripture:

    • John 4:21, 23-24

    • 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

    • Romans 8:26

    • Ephesians 6:18

    • Psalm 34:1-3

    • Romans 8:38-39

    Big Idea:

Worship is our new covenant response to the goodness of God, practiced through prayer, praise, and awareness of His passion for us.

    In This Episode:

    • Why worship is bigger than a Sunday song set and is meant to become the expression of our whole lives toward God.

    • How Jesus calls us to worship in spirit and in truth rather than allowing preference, tradition, or old-covenant thinking to shape our view of God.

    • Why new-covenant worship does not try to earn God’s attention, love, favor, blessing, or presence, but responds to what has already been given to us in Christ.

    • How prayer becomes worship when it grows into ongoing dialogue with God—talking with Him, listening to the Holy Spirit, and inviting His guidance into ordinary life.

    • Why praise is meant to be expressed so others can hear the goodness of God, and how rehearsing His love for us helps worship become a natural response.

    Reflection Questions:

    • Have I reduced worship to a Sunday song set, or is my lifestyle becoming worship?

    • Are there old-covenant phrases, songs, or beliefs that have made me think God is distant, withholding, or waiting to be convinced?

    • Where do I need to practice talking with God instead of only talking to God?

    • If someone heard or watched my praise, would they know how I feel about the Lord?

    • What truth about God’s love for me do I need to rehearse this week until worship becomes my response?

    Next Steps:

    • Read John 4:21, 23-24 and ask the Lord to help you worship in spirit and in truth.

    • Practice ongoing dialogue with God throughout the week. Ask what He thinks, and make space to listen for His guidance.

    • Praise the Lord out loud each day so His praise is not only in your thoughts but also in your mouth.

    • Create intentional space for worship outside Sunday morning—in your home, car, or quiet time with the Lord—and participate rather than simply observe.

    • Rehearse Romans 8:38-39 and remind yourself daily that you are loved by God and nothing can separate you from His love in Christ Jesus.

  • Back to Basics - The Spirit | Back to Basics, Week 4
    Sep 28 2026

    Episode Summary:

The early church in Acts lived in a way that stood in sharp contrast to a self-focused culture: believers shared life, noticed needs, carried burdens, and served one another. In Acts 2:44–46, we see that faith was not merely something they believed; it shaped how they lived together. This message calls the church to recover that same Spirit-led way of life through selflessness, sensitivity, sacrifice, service, and kingdom authority. We get back to the basics when we stop making life only about ourselves and demonstrate the love of Jesus by serving others.

    Main Scripture:

    • Acts 2:44–46

    • Romans 15:2

    • Galatians 5:13

    • 1 Peter 3:8

    • Galatians 6:2

    • 1 Peter 4:10

    Big Idea:

The church gets back to the basics when believers stop being consumed with themselves and love others by serving them with the same Spirit that empowered the early church.

    In This Episode:

    • Faith is more than what we believe. What we believe should shape how we behave, so faith becomes something we demonstrate in everyday life.

    • A selfless spirit asks, “How can I help?” God often meets people’s needs through other people who are willing to notice, trust Him, and respond.

    • A sensitive spirit chooses unity and sympathy. The body of Christ is called to carry burdens together so no one has to walk through hardship alone.

    • A sacrificial and servant spirit gives time, energy, resources, preferences, gifts, and talents for the good of others. We serve from our identity as sons and daughters of the King, not to earn that identity.

    • A sovereign spirit refuses a victim mindset. The same Holy Spirit who empowered the early church lives in believers today, equipping us to demonstrate God’s kingdom through love and service.

    Reflection Questions:

    • Where have I been more focused on my own need than the seed God may be asking me to sow?

    • Who around me may be carrying a burden that I have not slowed down enough to notice?

    • What comfort, preference, time, or resource might God be asking me to lay down so someone else can be helped?

    • Where am I currently using the gifts God has placed in me to serve others?

    • Have I been living from a victim mindset, or from confidence in the Spirit of God at work in me?

    Next Steps:

    • Ask God this week, “How can I help?” and pay attention to the needs He brings in front of you.

    • Serve one person in a practical way without making the moment about yourself.

    • Identify one gift, talent, or ability God has placed in you and find a place to use it for others.

    • Choose unity over personal preference and look for a way to celebrate the differences within the body of Christ.

    • Speak and live with confidence in the Spirit of God, then demonstrate the love of Jesus through service at home, at church, at work, and in your community.

    Closing Line:

Listen to the full message, share it with someone who needs the encouragement, and subscribe so you can keep growing with us each week.

  • Back to Basics - The Church | Back to Basics, Week 3
    Sep 21 2026

    Episode Summary:

The early church was devoted to the Word, committed to life together, and willing to carry the gospel beyond its gatherings. In this message, “In the Streets,” we look at Acts 2 and Luke 15 to see the Father’s heart for people on the outside: those who have wandered, rebelled, or even feel lost while still in the house. The church is called not merely to gather, but to remember, reach, and receive people with the same love and pursuit Jesus has shown us. This matters because the goal is not to treat people like projects to fix, but to lead them into relationship with Jesus and trust the Holy Spirit to transform their lives.

    Main Scripture:

    • Acts 2:32

    • Acts 2:42–47

    • Luke 15:1–32

    Big Idea:

The church is called to carry the gospel beyond the inside gathering and into the streets, remembering, reaching, and receiving those on the outside.

    In This Episode:

    • The church is a family of believers called to carry heaven into the earth together, not merely as individuals.

    • What happens inside the church is meant to move outside the church; every believer is a witness to the resurrection of Jesus in word and deed.

    • Luke 15 reveals the Father’s heart for people who are lost in different ways: the sheep wandered, the son rebelled, and the coin was lost while still in the house.

    • People do not lose their value when they are lost. Our passion is to remember them, our purpose is to reach them, and our priority is to receive them.

    • The goal is relationship with Jesus, not fixing people on our timetable. The Holy Spirit is the One who transforms as people encounter Christ.

    Reflection Questions:

    • Am I living as someone God left in the earth to carry heaven into the earth?

    • Where have I treated Sunday as the ministry instead of the equipping for ministry?

    • Who around me may be waiting for a sincere invitation or a simple act of kindness?

    • Do I still see value in people who have wandered, rebelled, or feel lost even while they are in the house?

    • Where have I been more focused on fixing people than receiving them and trusting the Holy Spirit to work?

    Next Steps:

    • Write down three names of people who are unchurched or do not know Jesus.

    • Pray for those three people this week.

    • Look for a sincere opportunity to invite one of them to worship.

    • Practice sharing the gospel in simple, relational language through kindness, listening, encouragement, and honest conversation.

    • Refuse to treat people like projects to fix; receive them as people Jesus loves and wants to know.

    Closing Line:

Listen to the message, share it with someone who needs encouragement, and subscribe so you can continue walking with us as we get back to the basics of the church.

  • Back to Basics - The Family | Back to Basics, Week 2
    Sep 14 2026

    Episode Summary:

The early church did more than gather for services; they lived life together. In Acts 2:42–47, believers devoted themselves not only to the apostles’ teaching, but also to fellowship, shared meals, and prayer. This message compares Sunday gatherings to a family reunion: vital and meaningful, but not the place where deep relationships are usually formed. Spiritual growth happens around the table, where believers can ask questions, share burdens, encourage one another, and grow together in the gospel.

    Main Scripture:

    • Acts 2:42–47

    • 1 Timothy 3

    • Ephesians 1:5

    • Romans 12:5

    • 1 Peter 4:9

    • Galatians 6:2

    Big Idea:

The church was born into a family, and real growth happens when believers move beyond the family reunion into intimate, gospel-centered community.

    In This Episode:

    • The early church experienced God’s power while practicing the principles God had given them, including a deep commitment to fellowship.

    • Being born again means being born into a spiritual family; God did not simply give us another assignment, He gave us brothers and sisters in Christ.

    • Sunday worship is essential, but it functions like a family reunion: the whole family gathers, while deeper relationships are built in smaller settings.

    • Growth is a product of intimacy. Dialogue, trust, honest questions, shared burdens, and encouragement help revelation move from information toward transformation.

    • Gospel-centered community is not only about what we receive. We also bring our time, our hurts, our heart, our experience, and our encouragement for the sake of others.

    Reflection Questions:

    • Where have I treated Sunday morning as enough while avoiding the smaller places where deeper growth can happen?

    • Am I connected to the church only as a member, or am I building friendships where people have meaningful access to my life and heart?

    • What question, struggle, or area of confusion do I need to bring into a safe, gospel-centered conversation?

    • What has God placed in me—through my experience, testimony, or growth—that someone else in the family may need?

    • Am I willing to give my hour, my hurts, and my heart so that I can grow with the family rather than simply attend church?

    Next Steps:

    • Join a Gospel Circle or another small, gospel-centered gathering and make room for community beyond Sunday morning.

    • Take one intentional step from membership toward friendship by connecting with someone in the church family outside the main gathering.

    • Bring one honest question, burden, or struggle into a trusted conversation instead of carrying it alone.

    • Look for an opportunity to encourage someone with what God has already taught you or brought you through.

    • Consider whether God may be inviting you to host, facilitate, or help create a space where others can grow in gospel-centered community.

    Closing Line:

Listen in, share this episode with someone who needs the reminder that church is a family, and subscribe for more messages from Calvary Church.

  • Back to Basics - The Word | Back to Basics, Week 1
    Sep 7 2026

    Episode Summary:

In the opening message of the Back to Basics series, Pastor Brad calls the church back to a deep, expectant relationship with the Word of God. Drawing from Acts 2 and Nehemiah 8, he shows how God’s people are transformed when they hunger for the Word, listen with expectation, learn together, and live in obedience to what God says. This is not a call to religious performance or legalism, but an invitation to receive and walk in what Jesus has already provided through His finished work. The message challenges us to treat Scripture as daily bread, not a once-a-week moment, and to expect God to reveal Jesus as we get into His Word.

    Main Scripture:

    • Acts 2:41–42

    • Nehemiah 8:1–15

    • Matthew 4:4

    • Nehemiah 8:10

    Big Idea:

God’s people are called to get back to the basics by getting into the Word, expecting to hear from God, and living by what He says.

    In This Episode:

    • The Word must remain the foundation of the church; ministry activity, programs, events, and even good practices can never replace the gospel of Jesus.

    • Scripture is daily bread, not weekly wheat. We do not read to impress God; we get into the Word because we want to know and enjoy Jesus.

    • Nehemiah 8 shows the hunger of a people who actively called for the Word and listened with reverence, attention, expectation, and anticipation.

    • God designed believers to learn the Word together as one body. Preaching helps us understand Scripture, but every believer is invited to hear from God and respond.

    • Obedience is not a way to earn what God has withheld. It is how we participate in and experience what He has already provided through Jesus.

    • The pattern is simple: look at the Word, listen to the Word, learn from the Word, and live by the Word. The book is powerful because it reveals the Person—Jesus.

    Reflection Questions:

    • Do I truly expect God to speak when I open the Word or come to church?

    • Am I treating Scripture like daily bread, or mostly as a weekly church moment?

    • Where have I been hearing the Word without truly listening and applying it?

    • Am I trying to grow in isolation, or am I receiving and responding to the Word with the body of Christ?

    • What has God already shown me in His Word that I need to begin living by?

    Next Steps:

    • Read one chapter of Acts each day during the 28-day Back to Basics devotional.

    • Before you read, ask God to speak and approach the Word with expectation rather than performance.

    • Write down one truth from Scripture and one practical way to live it out that day.

    • Stay connected to the body of Christ and make room to learn the Word with other believers.

    • Obey one clear instruction from the Word this week—not to impress God, but to walk in what He has already provided.

    Closing Line:

Listen to the full message, share it with someone who needs the encouragement, and subscribe so you can continue with us through the Back to Basics series.

  • Fruit of the Spirit - Self Control | Fruit of the Spirit, Week 9
    Aug 31 2026
    Episode Summary:

In this final message from the Fruit of the Spirit series, we look at self-control through the lens of grace, trust, and the work of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5 reminds us that self-control is not something we manufacture in our own strength; it is fruit the Spirit produces in us as we submit our will to God. This episode shows how Spirit-led self-control gives us victory over fear, flesh, and failure, freeing us from striving and teaching us to carry what Jesus has already produced.

    Main Scripture:

    • Galatians 5:22-23

    • 2 Timothy 1:7

    • Titus 2:11-12

    • Romans 6:14

    • Matthew 16:26

    • John 15:5, 8

    Big Idea:

Self-control is not you controlling yourself; self-control means God controls self.

    In This Episode:

    • Self-control starts with the right source: worldly self-control depends on your limited ability, but godly self-control flows from the unlimited power of the Holy Spirit.

    • Walking in the Spirit requires the submission of our will, like handing the remote control of our lives back to God and trusting Him to lead.

    • Spirit-led self-control gives us victory over fear by teaching us to take every thought captive and answer fear with the finished work of Jesus.

    • Grace gives us victory over flesh by teaching us to say no to ungodliness, not only obvious sin, but also good things God has not asked us to do.

    • Self-control gives us victory over failure because we are not called to produce fruit for God; we are called to bear what He produces in us.

    Reflection Questions:

    • Where have I been trying to control myself in my own strength instead of trusting the Holy Spirit?

    • What fearful thought have I allowed to take me captive?

    • What truth from Jesus needs to answer the “what if” in my mind?

    • What good thing may not be a God thing in this season?

    • What do I need to say no to so I can say yes to what God is asking me to do?

    • Am I trying to produce fruit for God, or am I trusting Him and bearing what He produces?

    Next Steps:

    • Read Galatians 5:22-23 and John 15 this week, asking the Holy Spirit to show you the difference between producing fruit and bearing fruit.

    • Give the Holy Spirit the remote in one specific area where you have been trying to stay in control.

    • Take one fearful thought captive and answer it with the truth of what Jesus has already finished.

    • Practice saying no to one thing that is keeping you from saying yes to God.

    • Speak what God says about you: “I have self-control because the Spirit of God lives in me.”

    • Rest in this truth: the battle is not yours; it belongs to the Lord.

  • Fruit of the Spirit - Gentleness | Fruit of the Spirit, Week 8
    Aug 24 2026
    Episode Summary:

In this episode, we continue the Fruit of the Spirit series with a message on gentleness. Gentleness is not weakness; it is Spirit-produced strength that trusts God and treats people like God can be trusted. Through Galatians 5, Colossians 3, and the example of Jesus, this message shows how gentleness gives us access to others, helps us stand for truth in the right spirit, and teaches us to restore broken people with care. Listeners are invited to receive the gentleness of God and extend that same mercy to others.

    Main Scripture:
    • Galatians 5:22-23
    • Colossians 3:12
    • Matthew 5:5
    • Matthew 11:28-29
    • 1 Peter 3:15-16
    • Galatians 6:1-2
    • John 4:1-30
    • John 8:1-11
    Big Idea:

Gentleness is Spirit-produced strength that trusts God in every situation and treats people like God can be trusted.

    In This Episode:
    • Gentleness begins with trust in God and tenderness toward others, even after painful seasons.
    • The fruit of the Spirit is not produced by our own strength; it is produced by the Holy Spirit in us.
    • Gentleness gives access because people are more likely to open their hearts when they believe we are for them.
    • Jesus was meek but not weak, showing us how to stand for truth without standing in the wrong spirit.
    • The church is called to restore gently, offering the same mercy and care God has shown us.
    Reflection Questions:
    • Where have I allowed what I went through to define me instead of trusting the One who brought me through it?
    • Has pain made my heart harder toward others, or am I remaining tender?
    • Are people more likely to trust me because I am gentle, or keep distance because I am harsh?
    • Where do I need to stand for what is right without standing in the wrong spirit?
    • How do I respond when another believer falls: with a finger pointed or a hand offered?
    • Where do I need to receive and extend to myself the gentleness God has already shown me?
    Next Steps:
    • Read Galatians 5:22-23 and ask the Holy Spirit to make gentleness visible in the way you respond to others.
    • Pray before reacting this week, especially when you feel tempted to answer harshly.
    • Look for someone who seems to be struggling and gently ask, “What is really going on?”
    • Choose to be a calming presence instead of adding fuel to emotional fires in your home, workplace, church, or online.
    • If someone has fallen, look for a way to restore gently without ignoring what is broken.
    • Stop using harshness on yourself where God has already shown mercy.
