• The Word must remain the foundation of the church; ministry activity, programs, events, and even good practices can never replace the gospel of Jesus.

• Scripture is daily bread, not weekly wheat. We do not read to impress God; we get into the Word because we want to know and enjoy Jesus.

• Nehemiah 8 shows the hunger of a people who actively called for the Word and listened with reverence, attention, expectation, and anticipation.

• God designed believers to learn the Word together as one body. Preaching helps us understand Scripture, but every believer is invited to hear from God and respond.

• Obedience is not a way to earn what God has withheld. It is how we participate in and experience what He has already provided through Jesus.
