This is special episode and another first for the Podcast as we talk about two local cycling events: MISALIGNED MINDS and HILLS AND HOLLERS FOR HABITAT. The first is that it is the first time we have had a family member on the show, my Cousin Caroline Murphy. She is with Paducah-McCracken County Habitat for Humanity and is greatly involved in the organization of the first annual Hills and Hollers for Habitat Cycling Event that takes place OCT. 10 with check in starting at 8 AM at Rosebower Baptist Church near Reidland KY. Misty Wilkins Bohanon is with Bikeworld Performance Racing and organizing this cycling event which started in 1990. Both rides include different distances and proceeds benefit great programs which you will hear about in our conversation. Today JB and I talk with Brad Munson who is the Voice of the Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado Football and Basketball, Livingston Central Softball, News Anchor for WKYX and News Director for West KY Star. We talk about his days in Lexington working with UK announcers Ralph Hacker, Dick Gabriel, and Dave Baker. After 4 seasons of being color commentator for the Graves Co. Eagles, the opportunity to be the play-by-play announcer for The Blue Tornado became a reality. Brad shares about his game preparation and the different experiences at various broadcasts venues. You can listen to Brad with his broadcast partner Richard Abraham on 94.3 FM every Friday night at 7 PM and on Wednesday nights at 6PM for The Coach's Show from Qdoba Mexican Eats in Paducah KY. After being gone on vacation and JB having a health emergency, we are back with a new episode from McRight Stadium on the campus of Paducah Tilghman High School to talk about the first two football games of the season and the upcoming rivalry game at Mayfield. We are joined by players Isaac James, Xsavier Isable, Wyatt Gower, and Avery Thompson who share what it's like to experience "Mayfield Week" what their positions are and their responsibilities. Next, we are joined by Head Coach Sean Thompson and Asst. Head Coach Steve Lovelace who talk about the team's performance during the first two games against McCracken Co. and Graves Co. preparation this week for Mayfield and the overall process of getting better each week. In this episode JB and I are talking with Murray State University Women's Basketball Associate Head Coach Mark Stephens. Coach Stephens comes to Murray from Purdue University where he served as recruiting coordinator, player development, and scouting. Prior to that he was on staff at Toledo and Xavier. Coach Stephens is a Louisville Kentucky Native and has been involved in several sports which he discusses in our conversation. Secondly, we talk with Head Coach Rechelle Turner about the Summer process for the staff and the vision for this year's team with new talent which brings more height and physicality. There is really not much down time from basketball in the "Off Season" due to recruiting trips in search for Future Racers, preparing for Players returning for the Fall Semester and finalizing the Non-Conference Schedule and traveling logistics. Today JB and I are back on the campus of Murray State University with a Summer Update on the Women's Basketball Team and the FIVE SENIOR'S: Sharnecce Currie-Jelks (NATIONAL DBL/DBL LEADER) , Destiny Thomas, Keslyn Secrist, Haven Ford (MVC STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE YEAR), and Halli Poock (MVC PLAYER OF THE YEAR) We ask them about their thoughts and perspective on the upcoming season as well as what activities they were involved in this summer. With this upcoming season being their last, we talk about how they feel about pursuing a 3 PEAT of The Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
