At last, the most knowledgeable and influential voices have their say on the Independent Commissions decision over the charges against Manchester City. We invite you to come along for the ride.

  • Match Day 5 - Don't Need To Discuss Much
    Sep 25 2026

Four matches, one win, and the only clean piece of work now feels oddly distant. Sabah were eventually put away with the expected difference in quality, Sesko and Mbeumo scored, and the Champions League campaign began without alarm. Everything since has been harder to explain. City went down to ten men at Old Trafford and still dictated the terms, while Brighton overturned a two-goal deficit in a defeat almost unique in its capacity to irritate.

Fulham leaves United stuck with the same uncomfortable question. The best of this side may be good enough, but how often does it appear, and why is the opposition still allowed to decide what kind of match will be played? Carrick has attacking options and moments of real quality. What he does not yet have is a team capable of imposing itself, managing danger and resisting the old urge to replace thought with panic.

  • Match Day 2 - Still On The Payroll
    Sep 3 2026

A first win of the season made Sunday at Old Trafford feel pleasantly familiar again. Ipswich were beaten, the early damage was repaired, and United could enjoy an afternoon without every old failing arriving at once. Still, one home victory cannot settle whether this side has truly improved or simply become a little more dependable. The transfer window leaves a peculiar impression. Three new midfielders answer the most obvious need, but the defence remains short of both depth and genuine distinction. Shaw is the only senior left-back, while the same back four that suffered through the four-goal defeat at Brentford can still be called upon years later. United have stopped behaving recklessly. The concern is that a season of unusual opportunity may have demanded something bolder.🔗 Follow us:Twitter - https://x.com/redarmyreactionInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/redarmyreaction

  • Match Day 3 - Slide By So Carelessly
    Sep 10 2026

United were seconds away from a second successive league win before Everton’s late equaliser turned a promising afternoon into another lesson in game management. We discuss Mbeumo’s consistency, Šeško’s first goal, Rashford’s encouraging return and the familiar defensive problems that allowed Everton back into the game.

We also look ahead to a pivotal week featuring United’s Champions League return, the Manchester derby and Brighton in the League Cup. Trying not to get too morose, too quickly, we turn to Carrick’s rotation options, the gaps in his coaching staff, City’s expensive summer rebuild and why the next three matches could reshape the mood around United’s season.

  • Match Day 1 - Soft Like Summer Rain
    Aug 26 2026

Bruno Fernandes may be the most instinctive footballer United possess, which is both the attraction and the problem. Against Hull, every glance forward seemed to promise another early ball over the top. Tielemans had much the same idea, Cunha kept leaving the space a striker might occupy, and Hull soon learned that defending deep required patience rather than heroics.

Carrick's faith in good players solving problems can work, but only when their habits complement one another. This midfield produced repetition instead: possession surrendered, pressure broken and no platform for the chances United needed. Hull added two straightforward set-piece goals to expose the lack of sharpness at the other end. One defeat does not condemn a season, yet a side with Champions League ambitions should not need long to understand why this one happened.

  • Match Day 0 | When I Wake From Dreaming
    Aug 21 2026

We’re back, and as slick and polished as ever. Yes, the video cuts out halfway through. Yes, you can hear Nathan eating Sweet Chilli Peanuts throughout, but the effortless charm of two consummate professionals pulls you through.

A long, hot summer has done little to make Manchester United easier to read. The players return with wildly different workloads and rather more questions than answers: Amad scored a fine World Cup goal but struggled for starts, Bruno laboured, Kobbie Mainoo never left the bench and Marcus Rashford briefly appeared before disappearing again. Maguire and Shaw were left at home altogether.

Carrick must turn that uneven group into a fit, settled side while the transfer window continues to expose the gaps in the squad. The ownership cannot spend another summer admiring the problem. Decisions are needed, and quickly. A difficult fixture list leaves little room for players to find sharpness on the job, though hope has survived worse United summers than this. For now, it rests on Carrick making sense of what he has and being given what he still needs.

  • Match Day 38 - Sang Songs, Made Merry
    Jun 2 2026

There was something almost suspiciously pleasant about it all: clear skies, a soft final-day pace, and Brighton leaving the door open as though European football were no great concern. United took the invitation without fuss. The ball kept travelling to the right places, the game never quite caught fire, and that was probably the point. Not every win needs to be dramatic to mean something.

Fernandes ended where he usually does, at the centre of what matters. The assist carried its own bit of history, the goal carried a little more force, and both came from the same old truth that still irritates people for reasons best known to themselves: he sees the game quicker than most. The other goal in the match was the more interesting one, though, all short movements and clean combinations in crowded space, is this the sort of pattern that hints at what this side is trying to become?

  • Match Day 37 - Stare Down These Eyes
    May 21 2026

Sun at Old Trafford does half the work on a day like this. The place was in the mood to forgive a few loose touches, indulge a bit of selfish play and enjoy a game that didn’t carry much jeopardy but still managed to be properly watchable. Forest played their part, especially through Anderson, who auditioned well for a role in a Manchester production soon, even if it is in the wrong colours.

United had the better footballer on the pitch and, as usual this season, they made it count. Bruno kept threading passes into places that should have led him to more than one assist, Shaw popped up with a finish far tidier than anyone expects from a left-back, and Mbeumo kept missing until he didn’t, which is often the difference between a poor afternoon and a decent one for a centre-forward. The handball will get the noise, but the stronger feeling was something quieter: a last home game with a bit of light in it.
